Description
I have health care experience spanning more then 15years. I have worked in various environments with various people from babies, primary school children to adults, including elderly adults. I have worked with adults with learning disabilities promoting their independence and wellbeing. I also have experience working with mild to moderate mental health problems. I have experience working with the elderly, those with dementia, diabetes, heart disease and COPD as well as other long term conditions.
I have worked in acute hospitals, nursing homes and within the community; both as a support worker; and from 2017, a qualified adult nurse registered with the NMC; this had provided me experience in acute care as well as care at the end of life.
I went on to complete a dgdip in specialist community public health nursing, so am also a registered health visitor which I enjoy very much.
I am very family orientated; I have 3 children aged 2 boys and 1 girl, aged 5, 11 and 14 years old. At home we have a our dog ‘Rocky’ who is our gentle giant. As a family we enjoy spending time together, travelling to see other family members (Essex and Durham), we enjoy movies, walks; as well as trying new things together. This year we tried paddle boarding and had a great time!
I love reading and enjoy subjects around psychology and social/emotional development, as well as some fiction (my favourite are dystopian novels, but I enjoy some mystery and romance too!).
My partner is a service man and is currently serving in South Cerney, he is often found playing various sport (mostly golf, squash, running and if the season is right - skiing!).
